Barbie Project

We have a problem. Or, more accurately, I have a problem.

Back on Christmas, I told my cousin that I had started rerooting a Barbie head because I wanted a gray-haired Barbie. You may recall this project, though I would forgive you if you don't because I started it years ago. (Yes, I said years.) Right now my poor partially rerooted Barbie head is lying on the pile of junk mail to be shredded.

I am hardwired to respond to goals and deadlines, so after mentioning the project to my cousin, I boldly proclaimed that I would have her finished by July 4th, which would likely be the next family get-together. Is the problem that I set a firm deadline? No, that was probably wise. The problem is that it's about to be June! That means I have approximately thirty-four days to finish rerooting her head, finding her a suitable outfit, and showing her off!

I started the project because I was looking for something fun that was not writing-related, and it is, it was, and then it fell by the wayside. I'm guessing you have a project like this too, maybe not rerooting a Barbie, but something else you started and didn't finish. I've set my goal for July 3. Care to join me in an informal summer race-to-the-finish of some abandoned project?

We can do it!
